Gemotions

I leaned back in my chair, the sunlight warming my face as I watched the birds flitting about outside the window. The gentle sounds of the park below, the rustling of leaves in the breeze, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. My book was close, and all my day's responsibilities were done. I felt at peace, just enjoying the slow passing of time.

An email arrived, shattering the moment. A distant relative informed me that I had a half-sister. I stared at the screen, my heart pounding. My sense of calm was immediately shattered.

I looked around the room, which suddenly seemed unfamiliar. The comfortable silence was broken, replaced by a jumble of thoughts and questions. Everything I thought I knew about my family felt suddenly uncertain.
